GSA VS ROCKLEDGE
GSA started the game with some quick passing between Sean,
Matt, and Tomasz. Rockledge turned the ball and drove
down to our side before getting a shot on goal but Cody handled
the ball easily. GSA had a throw in a short time later
with Matt receiving the ball. The Rockledge goalie
came out of the box but Matt couldn’t get it by and
the drive was stopped. Matt received another pass but
again the goalie was able to handle the ball before a good
shot could be made on goal. Rockledge then got their
own drive going with Cody make one of his patented diving
stops. GSA had another opportunity after Diego chased
down a kick deep and shot on goal but missed. Rockledge
got a drive going and drove passed our defenders with some
good dribbling a put a good kick on the ball to the goal
that was just out of Cody’s reach for a 0-1 lead. GSA
started the game good but we got sucked into Rockledge style
of play and got a little sloppy.
After a water break, and struggling
to come alive in the first part of the game, GSA got
some good drives going when Tomasz got the first good
shot on goal but goalie for Rockledge made a diving grab
to save a score. Rockledge drove
and got a kick on goal but Cody was able to make a great
one handed grab of the ball. GSA turned another run
on and made some good passing from Matt to Drew to Brody
to Andreas who made two shots on goal with the second going
into the goal to tie the score 1-1.
GSA began the 2nd half good by passing like they know how
to and Myles getting first shot on goal but the ball was
stopped. GSA got another run with Tomasz passing to
Diego who shot on goal and ball went off right front post
in into goal for a 2-1 lead. After trading possession
several times for the next 10 minutes or so the game ended
with GSA winning 2-1
GSA vs 1st Coast
A few words can describe this game. Frustrating! Both
teams played hard but the temperature dropped and the winds
picked up and both teams had problems dealing with the weather
conditions and couldn’t get a score and the game ended
in a 0-0 tie.
GSA vs. FC America
GSA began the game with some good ball movement once again
with Sean passing to Myles to Matt who took the first shot
but it went wide. FC had a goal kick and ran to our
end of the field but Cody stopped a long kick. GSA
ten took the ball down and passed it around trying to get
a good shot but couldn’t convert. GSA got its
best run with a long pass and Diego running ball to goal
but couldn’t get enough power on ball and kicked it
right to goalie who made a stop.
After a water break GSA still continued to move the ball
well but could not get a good kick on goal. Garrett
received a pass but took it far for a good kick on goal. Alex
had a penalty kick which Tomasz received and passed wide
and Garrett took down before centering to Andreas but he
took the ball too far to get a score.
After half started GSA began by
passing the ball around and then driving the ball down
field to FC side then the ball was kicked out. GSA then took a corner kick and the
ball was headed then Matt got a foot on the ball and scored
for a 1-0 lead. Soon after, GSA took control again
and Matt once again had a kick on goal but it went off goal
cross bar. GSA controlled the ball well. Riley got
a pass and tried to save a kick on goal but couldn’t
catch up to the ball in time to get a good kick on it. FS
was able to take control and had their best chance of game
but the shot went wide of goal into side of net. GSA
got a run after Cody kicked a goal kick well and Brody received
kick down near FC goal and kicked once but ball was stopped
and then on follow up stopped again. Referee called
offside’s for some unknown reason after ball went in. GSA
shortly after got another run on FC with Diego taking ball
but took the ball a little too far to the goal and the goalie
came out and covered before he could get a kick off. FC
got a penalty kick and hit to center of the field but Grant
able to kick it away. Next Andreas kicked the ball
to Tomasz for a score and game ended 2-0.
With the score and the team with the losing record in the
tournament winning its final game, GSA qualified as the
number one seed in the next round in Palm Bay Feb 27. |
