GSA Partners with Jacksonville Armada

Press Release: January 23, 2018

The Gainesville Soccer Alliance announced today that they will be partnering with the Jacksonville Armada FC Youth Academy!

GSA’s program is the fourth strategic partner joining the academy since it was established in April, 2016. With the partnering of another prestigious youth club, this strengthens the full club development pyramid and player pathway for local talent, while at the same time enhancing community based programming.

During the past 20+ years, GSA has been part of the Gainesville youth soccer community, led by passionate and dedicated leaders whose commitment to youth soccer is unsurpassed. Focusing on player development, GSA is home to thriving recreational, academy and competitive programs with over 1,500players each year.

According to Chris Dunn, Jacksonville Armada FC Youth Academy BOD President, “We are honored to be partnering with the Gainesville Soccer Alliance under the Armada FC Youth partnership. By partnering with GSA, another organization that shares our values, we will have a greater positive impact on soccer families and players in both of our surrounding communities. Welcome to the fleet!”

“GSA’s new partnership with the Armada FC Youth Academy will provide a healthy developmental pathway for those living in the Gainesville community”.

Chad Smith, Gainesville Soccer Alliance BOD President adds, “GSA is excited to offer this opportunity for our membership. This will enhance what the Gainesville Soccer Alliance can provide for all of our 1,500 players. We are fortunate to partner with a soccer club that aligns so closely to GSA’s mission, and to build on the Jacksonville Armada FC Youth Academy’s success.”

Current Armada FC Youth Academy Interim Executive Director Pat Cannon will work closely with GSA’s Coaching Committee to continue to improve the youth development model. Pat Cannon says “We are thrilled to be partnering with Gainesville Soccer Alliance. Their player philosophy and their focus on player development is on the same page of what we believe in. We look forward to working with GSA and the opportunities it will provide to the players.”

This is truly an exciting day for the Gainesville soccer community!
